Current Opportunities

Associate Advisor

For over 25 years, Crawford Ashwood Financial has been dedicated to helping clients navigate their financial lives with clarity and care. We’re a small, independent firm built on trust and meaningful relationships—and we’re looking for an Associate Advisor to join our close‑knit team.

This isn’t just a job. It’s an opportunity to grow, build real relationships, and play an important role in supporting clients who trust us like family.

Where You Come In

As our Associate Advisor, you’ll play a key role in the day‑to‑day functioning of the practice.

This is not a passive or narrowly defined position. You’ll work closely with clients, manage important details independently, and proactively support the Senior Advisor while collaborating with our Licensed Assistant. Your work will directly improve client experience and create meaningful capacity for the advisory team.

How You’ll Work

  • You’ll work independently day to day, taking ownership of client service and follow‑through
  • You’ll collaborate closely with the Senior Advisor and Licensed Assistant
  • You’ll communicate openly, ask thoughtful questions, and look for solutions before bringing problems forward
  • You’ll build real relationships with clients and teammates—not just process tasks

This role is best suited to someone who enjoys responsibility, values teamwork, and wants to be deeply involved rather than simply clocking in and out.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Senior Advisor with client meeting preparation, follow‑up, and planning
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for ongoing client service, handling day‑to‑day requests and communications with professionalism and care
  • Prepare meeting materials, summaries, and documentation
  • Assist with portfolio analysis, performance tracking, and review preparation
  • Maintain CRM records and client files meticulously
  • Proactively identify issues, resolve them independently when possible, and keep the team informed
  • Handle some account administration, including trades, transfers, and paperwork
  • Contribute to a well‑run, organized, and client‑focused office environment

What We’re Looking For

Must Have

  • Be an awesome human! Bring kindness, integrity, and positive energy to the team
  • IFIC / CIRO (formerly MFDA) license in good standing
  • Post‑secondary diploma or degree (or equivalent industry experience aligned with the CFP® / QAFP® certification path)
  • Experience in a small or independent advisory firm
  • Proven ability to work independently, manage details, and follow through
  • A self‑starter mindset—you see what needs to be done and take initiative
  • A team‑first attitude, with a genuine desire to support the Senior Advisor and help everyone do their best work

Assets

  • CFP® or QAFP® designation (or working toward it)
  • LLQP license (or willingness to obtain within one year)
  • Strong administrative foundation with real hands‑on processing experience

You’ll Thrive Here If You

  • Enjoy supporting a Senior Advisor and making their role more efficient
  • Are comfortable wearing multiple hats without rigid structure
  • Are organized, detail‑driven, and solution‑oriented
  • Communicate clearly and professionally
  • Care deeply about clients’ wellbeing and doing things the right way

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary plus annual bonus
  • Flexible benefits
  • A supportive, collaborative environment that values true employee happiness
  • A long‑term career opportunity with the intention of deep integration into the practice
  • Paid birthday off and an in‑office wellness space
  • Convenient location near the 401 in Hespeler (Cambridge), Ontario

Details at a Glance

  • Location: In‑office, Cambridge, ON
  • Start Date: Fall 2026 (flexible for the right candidate)
  • Schedule: Full‑time, Monday–Friday (occasional evenings or Saturdays as needed)
  • Compensation: Salary + bonus, flexible benefits
